Cozumel Country Club

Introduction | Pok Ta Pok | Cozumel | El Camaleon Mayakoba | Hilton | Iberostar Playa Paraiso | Riviera Maya | Moon Spa & Golf Club | Playacar | Puerto | La Roca

Cozumel Country Club is the island's first golf course and one of the Riviera Maya's most challenging tests of golf. This 6,734-yard par 72 golf course, winds through the Mayan jungle and the native mangrove swamps, wetlands and the natural habitats of the island. Cozumel Country Club is just 15 minutes away from the international pier and 10 minutes from Cozumel Airport, making it easily accessible to arriving guests.

Cozumel Country ClubThe Cozumel Country Club golf course was designed by Nicklaus Design Group and it took five years to be sculpted in the limestone, coral and saltwater marshes on the Northwest end of the island. This wonderful golf course is environmentally friendly, being carefully crafted from the surrounding mangroves and marshlands to preserve its environmental integrity.

Cozumel Country Club is the first golf course in Mexico to receive certification in Environmental Planning from the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System, an international program administered by Audubon International, designed to help landowners preserve and enhance the environmental quality of their property.

Cozumel Country ClubCreated to provide a first-class golf test for players of any skill levels; Cozumel Country Club offers a challenging experience to the serious golfer and allows an enjoyable surrounding for the not so serious ones. All the holes carry the imminent threat of a ball lost forever in the jungle and in more than half, 13 of them, water comes into play.

After playing the par-five, 506 yard 9th hole, the degree of difficulty changes dramatically after the turn. Among a strong set of par threes, the 204 yard 5th and the 189 yard 12th are the best ones. The 7th hole is the handicap one, a dogleg left 407 yard par 4; but 16th and 18th holes are probably the hardest even though they are rated no. 2 and 4 on the card. Bermuda 419 was used for fairways and hybrid Bermuda for greens.
